Question: Do I tell him I'm Bi?

Dear Lounge Advice,

Hello, I have been dating my boyfriend for over 5 years. We are going to get married at the end of this year. He does not know I am bi-sexual. It took me a long time to even admit it to myself. I have not cheated on him. I have been with women before I met him. And I still desire them. I thought it was a faze I would grow out of. Question: Do I tell him of this even though I may and probably will lose him because he is older and more set in his ways. Im 31yrs he is 48yrs. Or just take it to my grave and try to control my desire?

Sincerely,

(Anonymous)

Dear (Anonymous),

After dating for 5 years he probably has already figured it out or at minimum has noticed your interest in women in some fashion or form.
He may just be uncomfortable or unsure about how to bring this issue up to talk about it.
Either way..it would foolish to enter a marriage with him if you do not feel free revealing your entire self to the man with out risking loosing him.
If you don't tell him you will already be keeping secrets about yourself going into your marriage and that is not a good way to start a marriage out.

Honesty can never do your wrong...if he truly loves you and wants to be with you he will accept you for who you are.

Better to tell him now and risk not getting married than to tell him (or have him find out) later and possibly end up in divorce court if he has a huge hang up with your bisexuality.

Sincerely,
