Question: Pushy male continues to make advances

Dear Lounge Advice,
I was recently at a (after) party where there was a very sexually aggressive individual present. Despite my protests, this person clearly disrespected my boundaries on several occasions. The disrespect occured as I made several attempts to leave to party itself.
The next day, I received an email from this individual stating that they realized that they "may have been a little aggressive towards me", but could we still get together?

I have heard from several others that this is a repeated behavior pattern for this individual (lacking the ability to take no for an answer). My question is: considering the LS, what type of recourse or advice can you offer?

Anonymous

Sincerely,

(Anonymous)

Dear (Anonymous),

In this case, you should be blunt, especially if he has a history of being too pushy. Perhaps nobody has spoken up before and he doesn't realize that what he is doing is downright rude. Tell him exactly how you felt and that you didn't appreciate it, and that his behavior is reason enough for you to decline any further invitations from him. If nobody speaks up, he will continue to behave in this manner, and there is no place for this is our lifestyle.
