| Question: Asking to prove we exist as a couple is insulting. |

Dear Lounge Advice,
We are married more than 20 years... asking to prove we exist as a couple is insulting.
Sincerely,

Dear
(Anonymous),
Obviously you know that you're a couple, but how does anyone else? You could tell me this, but without a validation seal to prove it, I won't take anything at face value, especially when it comes to an adult oriented internet meeting place.
I've been in the swing website business for eight years, as well as participating as an active member. Many single men try to pose as a couple in order to lure people in. Due to the scam artists, websites need to watch out for people's security. To do this, they ask us all to prove that we are indeed who we say we are. If left to run amok unvalidated, members would have free reign over deceptive behaviors.
Inevitably, you will come across someone like this, and when it comes time to ask them to verify that they are indeed a couple, you'll see that the validation process is in place for extremely good reasons.
I'll be honest- we won't communicate with anyone if they are not validated. We value our safety and our time.
You yourself even indicate in your profile that you don't want to deal with fakes posing as a couple. So I'm having a dificult time understanding why are insulted by this.
