Question: How to let people know about a meet and greet

Dear Lounge Advice,

I have a small shop in downtown Glen Ellyn, IL and I recently received my Liquor license to have wine tastings and serve glasses of wine. It's also a very cute store that offers all kinds of jewlery, arts, and things such as that. My question however, is that I want the LLer's in this area to know where I am at and to offer them, on occassion, a greet and meet type setting. This in no way would be a "club" for the police would have a field day! lol It would be a private gathering, after hours, or on certain days of the week, month, year. We would like to let all know of this but are unsure of how to get the aatention it may deserve on LL. We have already had groups such as book clubs, pre-school moms clubs and a gourmet club but we feel it may be a great place for LLer's to meet occassional also. We do not nor have the intention of competing with the Swing Clubs here so we don't want them to feel threatened. It's just a very nice store that is fast becoming a meeting place for certain groups and we want to host or invite the fine people of LL to take a look.

How do we go about letting them know and or sending out invitations? It would be nice if we could send a feeler out to see who or how many may be interested...any help?

Michelle

Sincerely,

Dear (Anonymous),

All you have to do is put that same information into an invite format and shoot it out to everyone's profiles in your area. Set up an initial meet and greet and see how many show up. I know that many of us look for venues besides the swing clubs to meet, and this sounds like a wonderful idea.
You can also post your invite in the forum.
