Question: How to compromise on our same room/seperate room wants

Dear Lounge Advice,
We are a new young couple to this lifestyle. I the (girl half) have a hard time doing a full swap while he's in the room. I myself enjoy the story telling side later, I'd rather not watch. He on the other hand wants to be in the room, however I cannot enjoy myself that way. I like to play away from him. Same party, same building, but find it hard to have fun if forced to be in the same room. Im curious is there a way to come to some sort of middle here?

Sincerely,

(Anonymous)

Dear (Anonymous),

The only way you can find middle ground is to talk about this and come to some sort of compromise.
You may find your preferences harder to come by since most couples prefer staying in the same room together.
Perhaps given this, you may want to compromise by looking at the other couples' preferences and go by that. If they only play same room, your hubby gets what he likes. If they are willing to do separate room swap, then you get what you want. By doing this, you have a compromise and you are deferring to the other couples' play limits.
But only by talking to each other can you and hubby decide what's best for you.
