Question: Wishlist etiquette

Dear Lounge Advice,

We are new to Lifestyle and im confused about the wishlist. What exactly does that mean? Should you add people to your friends list if they sent you a wishlist request??

Thanks for your help

Dear (Anonymous),

If someone adds you to their wishlist, an automatic standard letter goes out to alert you that you have been added to their wishlist. By no means does this mean that you have to respond or take any other action. I rarely take action when I get the standard wishlist notification unless I find the profile highly intriguing.
Wishlisting is simply a means for members to earmark who they're interested in. Sometimes we use it to keep track of good profiles and we can come back to our list to later to follow up on contacting these people personally.
If you're added to someone's wish list and you are interested in them as well, feel free to respond to them and express the mutual interest. Afterall, this is all about connections :)
