Question: Found out! We know that are friends at work are swingers too
Dear Lounge Advice,
My husband and I are friends with a couple whom we work with and recently found out they are in the lifestyle. They know we are too. How can we still hang out with them and make sure it doesn't get weird?
Just bring it out in the open if you don't want to continue feeling uncomfortable about this. There's nothing like you both knowing there is a huge elephant in the room and trying to ignore that it's there.
Just acknowledge that you're both swingers and get a good laugh out of it. It might be pretty neat for you all to do this because you'll all have something noteworthy in common that coul become a great conversation piece.
If you're not comfortable approaching the topic, then you'll all have to cope with the awkwardness until it becomes a comfortable unspoken truth.
It's similar to the advice I give people who are afraid of running into someone they know at a swing club.
You're all there for the same reason and there's no reason to feel weird or awkward.
They're probably feeling the same way right now, but are wondering if they will upset you if they bring it up. Perhaps if you bring it up, they will feel relieved!
