Question: Scars- A breast lift has left me with embarassing marks

Dear Lounge Advice,

I have been feeling inferior because of my breasts. So many women on here seem to have perfect one's! I had to have a breast lift with my augmentation so I have large scars. I have expressed this concern to my husband but he says they are beautiful, but I wonder what other people think when they see them.. is it a complete turn off. We didn't go to any pool parties this summer because I do not want to go topless in front of a large group of people. Not that I would be forced to but I would feel uncomfortable just the same. I wanted to place a poll in the Forum but then I wouldn't be anonymous. I would like to know what people think about scars on the breast! Any experience to share?

Sincerely,

Dear (Anonymous),

You made me smile when I read this :)
I have gone through nine surgeries to fix one of my breasts. I have a huge scar/indent on the right side of one breast as a result. So, I know exactly how you feel. It's normal to want to hide scars like ours.
I looked at your photos and you truly have beautiful breasts. Mine are nice too, but with imperfections.
I'm slowly getting over this, but it's nice easy as you know. If I'm around people I don't know, I will hide the scars.
Maybe if you're like me, it's easier to show when you know who you're with. When I feel comfortable around a group of people, I show the scars and tell the stories. I find that it makes for a good conversation piece.
And ya know what?? Those people will still want be attracted to you, scars and all! You're a beautiful woman, and you shouldn't allow a couple of scars to demean your beauty.
Now, I'm going to try to listen to my own advice, haha!
