Question: Divorce rates in the LS vs. non-LS couples

Dear Lounge Advice,

Does anyone know about divorce statistics among swingers? I.e., what are the divorce rates among married partners in the LS as opposed to non- LS couples?

Sincerely,

(Anonymous)

Dear (Anonymous),

I'm not aware of any such published statistics. I only have my own experience to go by. My own experiences don't equate to a fair sampling of the population, so I can't even make an educated guess on this.
Obviously, the glaring variable in relationship stability in this context is having sex with others.
What I always like to say:
Swinging in a relationship is like the wind to a fire. If the fire is strong, swinging will be the wind that breathes more life into your fire, making it burn brightly. If your fire is weak, that same wind will eventually extinguish the flames.

But, even with a 'normal' relationship, the same applies. Just substitue 'swinging' with some other bumps in the road that present a test of strength between two people.

Sorry I cannot answer your question- I can only offer philosophical ramblings ;)
