Question: Running across people you know

Dear Lounge Advice,

I am a single girl new to swinging. I've had a few experiences that led me to look for a place to continue exploring the lifestyle, and was happy to find this site.

I've been on the site a short time, and have come across the profile of someone I know. The problem is, he presents himself as a single male, and I know he is in a LTR with a friend of mine who doesn't know he's doing this.

Are there rules about how to deal with running across people you know here?

Feeling Awkward,

Dear (Anonymous),

In this case, you will have to use your best judgement. If you choose to confront him, or to tell her, you have just placed yourself in another awekward situation. While the attempt to alert one or both parties of the deception may be noble, this may place you in the middle of an ensuing battle bewteen them.
Are you willing to place yourself in this situation? If you feel strongly about your friendship with this woman, I'm sure you'll say yes as many of us would in this case.

This will also expose your lifestyle choice to your friend if she doesn't already know.

I could give you many possible scenarios to contemplate, but truly, here's what it boils down to:

Is this friendship important enough to you that you are willing to stick your neck out and help her?
If so, then be prepared for the effects that may come. Only you can decide what the right thing to do is.
