Question: I'm in love with a married woman.

Dear Lounge Advice, what happens when you fall in love with a married woman

Dear (Anonymous),

It ends badly for one or both of you.
I've been at the receiving end of this a couple of times and it's hell.
I'm not quite sure what you would like me to say here, and I don't believe there is any 'right' thing to say when it comes to this.
Are you willing to pursue these feelings and be party to damaging or perhaps ruining a marriage?
AND if she doesn't reciprocate the feelings, then what? You'll end up being a "fool in love" with no place to go.
Either way, please try not to interfere in her marriage. If she has these feelings for you too, it's for her to decide the outcome, as painful as it will be for either one of you.

The marriage is sacred.
Your feelings here are not the overriding issue.
Please respect HER relationship, if you truly love her.
The PC answer here is to tell you that you need to move on, but we all know that this advice usually falls on deaf ears.
Love isn't selfish and it hurts like hell at times. The latter of the aforementioned sentence is the most important point to keep in mind.

Sorry I'm not able to help you further. But from someone who has been in this sticky situation a couple of times before, I'm not much of one to give YOU advice. I'd be much better at giving HER advice.

Good luck and try not to get hurt too much.
