Question: Maintaining Erections during playtime

Dear Lounge Advice,

I'm a relatively new member to the lifestyle, and I have a question about maintaining an erection.

Now I've never necessarily had a huge problem getting an erection, lasting as long as I want to, or generally performing in bed. However, one thing I've noticed over time is that I have a very hard time maintaining erections for very long, when I'm not being directly stimulated, whether that's during sex, masturbation, or anything else. I'll be able to perform while having sex, but should it take more than 15-20 seconds to change positions, I find that I may need a little more "help" to get back up to full mast. While it's not generally a problem in a one on one situation, I fear that it would lead to anxiety issues in a party or large group situation.

I'm just wondering, does this sound like more of a physical issue, or a mental issue? And should it be physical, is there any advice you might have on where to go/what to try? I've tried an ED medication before through a friend, and not from a prescription, and I know that eliminates the problem entirely. However, I am also very young to be asking for pills concerning ED, and I know for a fact that my insurance wouldn't cover the expense, even should I convince a doctor to give me a prescription.

Thanks,
Anonymous

Sincerely,

Dear (Anonymous),

Hi there

It is possible that this is a physical issue as well as a mental issue. Age knows no limits to ED issues...I know guys in their 20s with ED issues...So I would recommend a physical examination from your physician to rule out any physical issues that may be present.

It is possible that this could be a mental issue because it is quite common in the LS for men to have ED issues because of "stage fright", especially if you are participating in a large group setting. Just like a lot of situations in this world, ie. sports...nervousness and anxiety can create performance issues. Nerves can be overstimulated, which then creates an "overload" in your mind/body...very similar to having a lot on your mind and finding it difficult to fall asleep.

So the best advice I could give you would be to get a check-up with your physician to rule out any physical issues and then practice relaxation techniques as well as starting out nice and slow with playing with another couple, then two, then three, working up to an all out orgy.

I Hope this helps. Good luck and stay sexy!
