Question: How do you deal with a problem couple?
Dear Lounge Advice,
We have been going to a local swing club for the past two years. There is a group of several couples whom we have become very close friends with. We are having a problem with one particular couple in that group.
Everytime we see them at the club, they have their hands all over us and grope us at will.
Since we are close friends, we don't know how to best handle this. They are nice people, and we are trying to be polite and just brush it off, but that is not alright anymore. Help !
We have also had experiences like that... and they are very annoying and can be upsetting especially in a social setting...and when it is coming from someone that you care about.
When you walk through the doors of a lifestyle club... there are unwritten rules... and sometimes people don't know them.... or need to be reminded about them.
Just because you are in the lifestyle and maybe alittle more sexually liberal... does not give anyone a license to touch you without your consent.
The very next time they do it... you need to take them Mr & Mrs Hands aside.... right then and there...and be very direct with them.
Tell them...."This is what you guys are doing.... nobody likes it... we love you guys... but this has got to stop. We are friends.. and we value your friendship... but that friendship does not give you the right to grope anyone like that in a social setting."
In the future... it is best for everyone reading this to deal with this the first time it happens. If a Mr. Handsy guy touches Zoey like that in a club.. she will tell him right way.... "Love you to death... but please don't do that anymore!" She doesnt make a scene... but her directness usually gets the point across.
