Question: My wife wishes to be alone with another couple.. is this normal for a first time.

Dear Lounge Advice,

We are couple in our late thirties. We have not ever tried swinging at all. My wife is very curious about it and keeps bringing up going to a swing party. She states that the first time around she may want to get left alone in a room with another couple with me in the house, but not participating or watching. This is simply her meathod of breaking the ice. I am ok with this, but was curious if this was common with first timers?

Dear (Anonymous),

No that is definately NOT the norm... but if this is truely ok with you.. then do whatever floats your boat. Just make sure you are really OK with it... or just going along with it. If you have ANY hesitations.. DO NOT DO IT.

It will just lead to a great deal of resentment.

For us...and most of the couples we know.. this is about something that we do together... not apart... and not without each other...

We are not telling you what to do.. just be conscious of what you are doing and why. Why should you even be in the house? Is that some sort of safety thing for her?

Sounds like an extreme step for first timers.. but then again... if it works for you... good luck !!!
