Question: No answer to emails

Dear Lounge Advice

Lately we have noticed a habit that bothers us. We always try to repond to peoples emails to us even if for whatever reason we are not interested in meeting the couple. The problem we are having is getting others to show the same courtesy. How do you go about letting people know that even if they arent interested in meeting they should at least send a quick, but polite, note to say so. I am tired of writing to couples and never hearing anything back. It is just rude. I would rather get a note saying no thanks than to be left in limbo.

Dear (Anonymous),

If you write to a member and they do not write back...that usually is a pretty good sign that they are not interested in communicating.

If you need some kind of confirmation that they received your mail but are not interested.....try ending your emails with a simple statement that you would appreciate a simple "not interested" if that is the case.
