Question: How do we ask our friends if they are in the lifestyle?
Dear Lounge Advice,
We recently met another couple through friends that we suspect maybe in the lifestyle but have know way of knowing for sure. Do know of a way to ask them or hint that we are without outing ourselves if they are not?
There really is no "safe" way to approach another couple with out some risk of "outing" yourselves.
Here are a few ideas to consider.
Try dropping the subject of swinging in conversation and see what their reaction is.
With all the exposure the lifestyle is getting in the media lately...you certainly could use it as an opportunity to bring up the subject.
For example....maybe try initiating a conversation about how things(sex, drugs, music, fads and trends)have changed in the world since you were younger and then may be ask something like " Did you guys see the 20/20 show about swingers?"
See what their reaction is and follow your instincts as to whether or not they want to talk about swinging or just drop it.
We've also heard of couples leaving personalized business cards out where a couple might pick it up...but not know it was them that left it.
The cards simply say lifestylelounge.com and their member name only.
If the couple is curious about the lifestyle they may join the site.
If they do they most likely will look up the member name and if they recognize you....write to you to let you know they found you.
There have been several Forum discussions on this topic in the past.
You may want to do some digging and see what other members have tried.
