I constantly read in profiles and forum threads that honesty is the most important thing in the Lifestyle and I am not sure why that assertion is so prevalent.

I fully understand open and honest communication between you and your partner being paramount.

Between people that you intend on developing friendships with then I believe a good level of transparency is important..

The question for me is do casual sex partners deserve honesty about whatever question they want answered? Are there certain things that are ok to lie about? What specific information should everyone in the Lifestyle reveal to everyone else? Is there some "honor amongst thieves" code?

I have heard the oft repeated phrase. "If they'll lie about .... then what else are they lying about".

I want to be clear on what I am looking for: A dialogue on reasons or explanations or examples of why people believe this is crucial or think it's completely unimportant.
