Why/How does the lifestyle improve communication? |

I am having an e-mail discussion with a long time vanilla friend and she asked this question of me. (She and I have been married to our respective spouses for 26 years.) I noticed in the topic about how have people changed since entering the lifestyle that most couples cited improved levels of communication (me too.) But her question is genuine, after so much time together it is assumed that good communication is indicative of success, which is true. Somehow, we manage to obtain a deeper level of communication than we thought possible. I have a better answer than "I dunno, it just did" but curious why is it that we have improved levels because I think we all mean this transcends the lifestyle overall in our communications.
Did this make sense? It did in my head! LOL!
