Dear (Anonymous), We would think that general etiquette and not necessarily “lifestyle” etiquette would dictate that you would both split the bill. The only time you may wish to consider paying is if you have pressed the issue on where to go, and you are pushing to go to a specific place that is very pricey, and have not disclosed that to the other couple. You can overcome this ahead of time by just making sure that everyone understands ahead of time where you are planning to go, and what type of place it is. In our experience this has not been an issue, and usually everyone goes out expecting to split the bill..
